The Nomadic team is very thankful for the opportunity to conduct business in Washington DC and remains committed to giving back to the community. Each year we will identify two specific and local causes and coordinate fundraisers to make an impact in the most significant manner we can. The Nomadic team will manage the entire fundraising campaign, donate company funds and also volunteer time and additional resources to promote these incredible clauses.
The Nomadic team recently was able to help assist Maximus (FKA Clay) make his long awaited trip to Washington DC from North Carolina. We were all very excited to meet him and we were impressed by how friendly and well behaved he was despite his rough start to life. We were lucky enough to bring him by the office to hang out and introduce him to the team. He is a loyal boy who will certainly make his new owners, whoever they will be, very happy for a long time. You can see some photos from the trip and his time at the office below. We would not have been able to make any of this happen without the generous donations of our clients and tenants.
If you would like to help there is still time, so please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Also, Maximus is looking for his forever home and if he seems like a he would make a good addition to your family we would love to hear from you.
Capitol Canines Animal Rescue is a not-for-profit, volunteer-based animal rescue organization that advocates on behalf of homeless animals abandoned in severely under-resourced shelters throughout the Southeast region of the U.S. They target these shelters where animals are scheduled to lose their lives and with the help of donations rescue them and place each adoptable companion into foster homes until his or her perfect “forever” home comes along. Furthermore, they endeavor to circulate knowledge and promote initiatives that support compassion toward animals, such as responsible companion animal relationships, as well as legislative objectives, policies, and procedures that promote the humane treatment and better overall welfare of our four-legged friends.
Help Nomadic Real Estate and Capitol Canines rescue Clay! Clay is a very sweet, young male “All American Mix”! Clay had a very tough start to life, and has the scars to prove it. He was found scared and alone as a stray trying to find somewhere safe to hide. Clay has horrible scars on his back from chemical burns. The scars are consistent with having motor oil poured on his back – this old-fashion “home remedy” anti-flee solution is incredibly dangerous to animals because today’s additives severely burn the skin. Poor Clay was probably in quite some pain when this happened. However, he did not let being neglected and abandoned impact his huge heart and love for life. He loves attention from people and is extremely playful! This sweet guy has so much love to give and really deserves a second chance to learn what it means to be loved back. He’s so well behaved, he’s a shelter favorite, but he’s running out of time.
Because he was not properly cared for, he is heartworm positive, which can be deadly if not treated. It’s an illness which is easy to avoid with inexpensive preventatives, but poor Clay wasn’t given preventatives. Heartworm treatment has a high rate of success, but it doesn’t come cheap. In this area, heartworm treatment can cost hundreds to thousands of dollars. It consists of several injections and a prolonged period of strict rest while the medicine kills the parasite. Nomadic Real Estate is trying to raise at least $1,000 to help Clay receive his standard vetting (vaccinations, wellness exam, neuter, microchip, etc.) and undergo heartworm treatment so he has a second chance at life; a life where he never has to worry where his next meal will come from or where he will sleep for the night. Please help Capitol Canines give Clay the happy life he certainly deserves!
