Neighborhood Description
The growth of this quadrant of Washington DC in the 1960's and 1970's is not going to be comparable to the expansion that is currently taking place. The Washington National's baseball team is currently constructing their new stadium in SW DC on the waterfront. This area is already walking distance to the Mall, Smithsonian Museums, and many national monuments. The newly planned construction and development in the area are estimated to produce 3000 construction jobs and 1500 permanent jobs.
The region is unique to DC in its combination and ratio of commercial space dominating the amount of residential locations. A large portion of the quadrant is obviously cut off by the Potomac River so this is DC's smallest fourth.
