Neighborhood Description
Settled over 125 years ago, this northwestern DC neighborhood has transformed itself into one of DC's most sought-after communities. Its boundaries are home to numerous embassies, research institutions, and of course chic retail locations, including Club Monaco and Lucky. The numerous coffeehouses and bookstores add an element of quiet discern and intrigue to the area. Dupont is also known as one of the leading areas of gentrification throughout the country.
Physically bounded by 15th Street to the east, Rock Creek Park to the west, K Street to the south, and Florida Avenue to the north, this area is oftentimes familiarized by its actual traffic circle of intersecting roads of New Hampshire Avenue, Massachusetts Avenue, Connecticut Avenue, and 19th and P Streets.
